This week's Shutterbug title goes to Steam user: ClassicK, who also has taken some other beautiful landscape screenshots.
Welcome to the first community update post of 2016! 2015 was an excellent year, but we're aiming to make 2016 even better! As many of you already know, we've been accepting player surveys and we've been getting some excellent responses. We greatly appreciate everyone that has participated. We are still accepting survey submissions and I'm pleased to let all of you know that from now on, we will be randomly picking 1 survey participant each week to receive a free GRAV Steam key. At the moment, we are especially looking for survey results from players ages 18 – 24. However, any and all ages will always be welcome. To participate in our player surveys, simply send an email to logan.williams@nullbitmonstergames.com with the subject line "GRAV Survey".
Now, let's get to some cool screenshots submitted by the community.
This week's Shutterbug title was pretty hard to pick. There were several screenshots that could have taken the title this week. With that being said, here's an excellent screenshot submitted by PvPenny that we absolutely loved!
This week's Creator Overlord title goes to Steam user: FeiLing for his sweet pyramid base, which seems to be a magnet for bad dune buggy drivers..
Each week we always find screenshots that we really like, but can't find a perfect fit for either weekly title. Here are a couple screenshots that we feel deserve some love this week.
“He’s right behind me isn’t he?”
This reminds us that AGDQ is going on right now!

We want to thank all of you for being such an awesome community and we look forward to bringing you more substantial updates next year.
Below, you can find our final Creator Overlord for 2015. We also want to have some fun before the year is over, so we are giving away 16 GRAV Steam keys to end the year! You can learn more at the bottom of this post.

Last week we merged overflow servers over to their new permanent homes. Aside from a certain overflow server 5, we believe things went fairly smoothly. Now we’re moving forward to a new holiday update! This new update brings a new Santa hat, holiday trees, presents, bug fixes and more. The update should be ready very soon, so stay tuned. If you haven’t already heard, last week, we officially brought back player surveys! If you’re new to GRAV, we ran player surveys before the Reborn update and many of the additions to Reborn were directly influenced by these surveys. If you’re interested in participating, please send an email to logan.williams@nullbitmonstergames.com with the subject line “GRAV Survey.
With that being said, let’s check out the Shutterbug and Creator Overlord for this week.
As always, we found a ton of excellent screenshots, so we have included some extra screenshots this week as runner ups. Below is the official Shutterbug for 12/18.
This week’s Shutterbug title goes to Militant Guru. Congratulations!
This excellent screenshot comes to us via Steam user: Brostachio
This week’s title of Creator Overlord of The Week goes to Murdersauce for their really really ridiculously good looking base that has survived 5 raids and includes public stargates, facilities, crafting services, and protection for new players! See some screenshots of this excellent base below. For a complete album of this base, visit this page.
This week’s runner up base is a pretty serious tower built by Steam user: Slllick
Here’s a couple more screenshots that we really liked! They definitely deserve some love.
You can thank PvPenny for this rainbow road screenshot!
That wraps up this edition of our community updates. The next Community Update post might be delayed or early next week. However, it definitely wont be on Thursday or Friday (Christmas Eve & Christmas Day). However, after that, we will be right back on schedule. If you want to be a part of future community updates, you can do so by submitting your screenshots, videos, artwork or anything GRAV related to us by tweeting at us @playgrav. You can also e-mail us at info@nullbitmonstergames.com with the subject line “Community Update Submission”. Until next time, EXPLORE BUILD DANCE SURVIVE and Happy Holidays!
This week’s Shutterbug title goes to clasicK. Congratulations!
We’re currently on the eve of the upcoming server merge. If you haven’t already heard, overflow servers from our recent free weekend will be merging to their new official homes. You can learn more about this in our official server merge thread. We’re also bringing back player surveys! If you’re new to GRAV, we ran player surveys before the Reborn update and many of the additions to Reborn were directly influenced by these surveys. We’re working on the next big update for GRAV and we think it’s a perfect time to get our surveys going again. More information about these surveys can be found at the end of this post. However, we had a lot of excellent base submissions this week, so let’s get this show on the road.
This week’s title of Creator Overlord of The Week goes to KatFrog for their really intricate main base that even includes an indoor race track! We also want to note that this week’s Creator Overlord and Shutterbug will be forever immortalized on our Facebook page in their own album of champions. All future winners will be added to these albums as well.
Our choices for runner up bases were stellar and made our winning choice extra hard. Because of this, they definitely deserve some love as well.
These bases were built by Jon and his soulmate and are really cool! Very creative, especially the Camel Towing service
We loved how photogenic this base is! It looks very practical and definitely deserves to be included in this weeks Community Update. Keep up the great work!
While looking through some excellent screenshots on the Steam forums, we found some really cool fan art by Steam user FaithSDK✪TimeTravellingSoldier. We absolutely love this kind of stuff and we strongly encourage any artists in our community to post any cool art you may have! We will be making a separate album on our Facebook page for fan art, so it can live on forever!
This week’s QA thread didn’t receive much love, so we only have a couple questions to include in this post. If you have any GRAV related questions, don’t hesitate to ask them in the official QA thread here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/332500/discussions/0/492378265881640924/. We look at every question submitted in this thread, so don’t not post because of the possibility of not being seen. With that being said, here are answers to a couple questions recently submitted:
Answer: Here’s a hint, you must be rank 300, and it might help if you hummed this song to yourself in a high level area: https://youtu.be/gOmJLk1lu08?t=80
Answer: Our next big push is all about NPCs and quests! We don’t have any dates for you yet, but we’re working on it now.
We are excited to start our player surveys again. For those of you that don’t know, player surveys are a way for us to get structured feedback from you. We also include a section in each survey for specific ideas/suggestions. This is another great way to make your voice heard. It’s also very helpful for us. It not only helps us improve GRAV, but it also helps us improve our community.
If you are interested in participating in our player surveys, simply send an email to me at: logan.williams@nullbitmonstergames.com with the subject line “GRAV Survey”.

The first ever Shutterbug title goes to Aca40eSete. Congratulations on taking this beautiful and clean screenshot!
It’s been a while since we’ve done a community update post. With that being said, we are going to try and get out at least one community update post per week. If you haven’t already heard, we are adding to these community update posts. To start, each post will include 2 titles. The first title, shutterbug, goes to the best screenshot of the week. The second title, Creator Overlord, goes to the best base of the week. Also, we are adding a new QA section to community update posts for the foreseeable future. If you want to submit a question, you can do so here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/332500/discussions/0/492378265881640924/. Keep in mind, this thread is strictly for questions and not discussions. It’s cool if you can answer some questions in the QA thread, but please only do so if you have facts.
It was very tough deciding who deserves the first ever title of Creator Overlord of the week! There were plenty of excellent bases to choose from, but after closing analyzing the submitted bases, the title of Creator Overlord of the week goes to…NekoValkyrie!
Maybe it’s because we’re missing summer time, but we absolutely loved this really cool beach house base. I mean, check out that view!
For more screenshots of this awesome base, check out NekoValkyrie’s screenshot page.
As stated above, it was really tough choosing the best base of the week, so here are a couple more bases that definitely deserve some love.
It wasn’t hard finding some really cool images for this community update post, so here are some other interesting screenshots we found.
Looks like Jonat is NOT afraid of heights.
Speaking of not being afraid of heights, we really liked this screenshot by Bruce Norris. Not nearly as scary and kind of peaceful.
Here’s another wingsuit inspired image. This one comes to us by Steam user Trev
We love seeing the community help each other out and YouTuber, Elite has created some really good how-to videos for players that are starting out. Below, you can see a quick and helpful guide by Elite on how to build your first base. Elite also has some other really helpful videos, so definitely check out his channel if you’re just getting started on your GRAV journey.
Here’s another good video for GRAV beginners by YouTuber, LittleDonnyTV.
Answer:
Yes! We have a bunch modeled already and will be adding it soon
Answer:
Yep! This is planned for the future. We need to think through the ramifications very carefully and come up with a good solution but it’s definitely on the list.
Answer:
They are not restricted to any particular planets.. Here’s a hint: What sort of creature would a bird head drop from?
Answer:
Yes! We plan to show rotation times in the stargate, as well as adding a timer for players that are on the planet. Additionally when a planet’s rotation timer is up, players on that planet will be given warning and then transferred to their home planet so people can’t camp planets any longer
Answer:
Yes, although they are done manually so it may take some time to get to all the requests.
Answer:
We have no plans to do any wipes beyond the overflow server merges. We have done exactly one wipe since the game launched and that was for Reborn where we changed the whole progression of the game.

Welcome to Community Update #7. It’s the first Community Update since the release of GRAV: Reborn. Since the launch of Reborn, we’ve had an increase in players, so if you’re new here, we would like to give you a warm welcome and for GRAV veterans, welcome back! We are committed to constantly improving GRAV and all of you have been excellent at giving us constant feedback. Since releasing GRAV: Reborn, we’ve released two follow up updates that have more than doubled the frame rate of the new starter planet. We were able to quickly release these updates because of the immediate feedback you’ve giving us. Today, we would like to share some cool screenshots of the new Reborn update and take a look at some new YouTube videos covering Reborn.
Looks like Teeeez found the new waterfall!
This interesting screenshot comes from Steam user Interesting John. See what I did there?
Looks like Palandrone14 is having fun racing through one of the new biomes on the new starter planet.
I bet Bon Bon The Beatiful wishes they had a Dune Buggy right about now…
Meanwhile, Chawlie is just enjoying the view.
This may be a survival game. However, Cosmic HD shows us that you can find some help here and there.
Since releasing GRAV: Reborn, we’ve seen some new content creators cover GRAV. Below are a few YouTubers that have recently played the new update.
YouTuber – PsiSyndicate
YouTuber – BrySciFi
YouTuber – SERIOUSSAMBR (portuguese)

Hello everyone,
It’s been a while since we’ve made a post about what’s going on. In today’s post, we are going to change that. First, we would like to announce that the official name of the upcoming update is “Reborn”. As some of you noticed, we were debating on calling it “Cataclysm”. However, we believe Reborn is much more fitting.
Now, onto the question that everyone has been asking: “is there going to be a server wipe or not?” The answer to this question is yes. As the name suggests it, GRAV is literally being Reborn. With a major update like this, we had no other option than to come to the conclusion that we will have to do a complete server wipe. Since the alpha launch back in January, we have introduced many small patches to the game and have not had to do any major server wipes. Reborn on the other hand, is anything but small and will introduce a ton of new features.
Honestly, it feels like a completely new game (much improved!). We simply couldn’t make a major change like Reborn without doing a complete server wipe. We want to remind everyone that GRAV is an Early Access game and is in alpha. We have been humbled by some of the stats we’ve seen from the dedicated GRAV community (some players with well over 1,000 hours of gameplay!). This has made this decision extra hard for us. However, we are committed to making GRAV the best possible game it can be and server wipes are a part of the process.
Just to be extra clear about what this means, all characters, resources and structures will be wiped. There is no need to break down your structures to keep resources, they will be disappearing with everything else. With that being said, we will be providing resource packs, titles, and a hat to players who were around before the wipe.
If you haven’t already followed our social accounts and want to stay on top of all the latest information, you can do so via these links: GRAV Twitter | GRAV Facebook | GRAV Reddit
We are very close to announcing a ton of new information, so stay tuned!

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest Community Update. First, we would like to thank all of you for your patience as we continue to work hard on the upcoming update. I would like to reward you with a sneak peek at some new weapons coming to the update:
I recently made a post on Steam about what we’re up to. If you’re curious about what’s going on and why we have been a bit quiet lately, you should check it out.
Also, we are still running the Streamer Starter Kit. We are currently in the process of converting the original post to a page that includes a form, so you can more easily and quickly reach out to us about receiving a GRAV Steam key. In the meantime, you can still participate by sending an email to streaminfo@nullbitmonstergames.com with the subject line "Streamer Starter Kit". We are looking for streamers and YouTubers who are active and have some sort of following. It doesn't have to be a huge following, we just want to make sure that when you say something, there is a group of people who listen.
We are also looking to partner with some larger streamers, so if you or someone you know has a large following (at least 10,000 followers/subscribers), we would love to hear from you! As we come closer to releasing the next update, we want to make sure that streamers with larger audiences have an opportunity to share what the update has to offer in hopes of growing our community. For more information, message us at streaminfo@nullbitmonstergames.com with a link to your stream or YouTube channel.
Since our last post, we've seen the official launch of YouTube Gaming and the first ever TwitchCon, so we feel like it's only right that we share some of the best Let's Play videos that have released since the release of GRAV back in January.
Entak has a great gameplay series that includes 15 videos. This series includes solo gameplay, multiplayer gameplay and a survival guide for new players.
BaronVonGamez also covered GRAV in a 3 video series that includes some funny commentary and gameplay.
Starsnipe’s videos on GRAV are excellent and they do a good job of showing off the soundtrack and some of the more relaxing aspects of GRAV.
BriSciFi recently uploaded an excellent 9 part series of GRAV that covers some of the more recent additions to the game. You can see the first episode of the 9 part series below:
Before we close this edition of community updates, we would like to share a really cool music mashup that was sent to us by YouTuber VJspacecat.
This wraps up this edition of our community updates. We’re going to continue to power through the upcoming update and get news out as soon as possible. Until then, EXPLORE BUILD DANCE SURVIVE.

Welcome to community update number five. In this post, we will take a look at some excellent community screenshots, say thanks to streamers that have taken part in the Streamer Starter Kit, shine a spotlight on a YouTuber covering GRAV in an excellent let’s play series and lastly, we will leave you with a new armor set coming soon in our next major update.

For those of you that haven’t heard, we have recently released a new program we call the Streamer Starter Kit. With this program, we offer select streamers/YouTubers an opportunity to get a free Steam key for GRAV. We also promote these selected streamers on Twitter and this blog. To see more information about this program, check out our introductory post. Below are streamers and YouTubers that have taken advantage of this program.
It’s been a while since we did a YouTuber spotlight, so here goes. YouTuber BrySciFi has been covering GRAV in a let’s play series and it has been pretty entertaining. Below, you can see the on-going series. However, you should also check out some of his other videos.
This wraps up this edition of our community updates. We are working really hard on the upcoming major update and will have some more information soon. Until then, EXPLORE BUILD DANCE SURVIVE.
